Fudgy Brownies
Hey guys! So I have always wanted to make homemade brownies. But all the recipes I have tried end up way too rich, and neither Trey nor I like them that way. So when I saw this month's Food Network magazine was starring chocolate as the ingredient for this issue and even better than the pull-out booklet was for 50 BROWNIES, I just had to pick it up. Flipping through the booklet brought me to this recipe for Fudgy Brownies-just how we like them. So tonight I decided to give them a try and not get my hopes to high. Well I made them, with a slight adjustment, and they were great! I have now found my go to homemade brownie recipe. :) Here's the recipe.
Fudgy Brownies - courtesy of Food Network
- 2 CUPS (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 STICK butter
- 3/4 CUP light brown sugar
- 3/4 CUP granulated white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 TSP vanilla
- 1 CUP AP flour
- 1/2 TSP salt
Melt the chocolate chips and butter in a pan over low heat while stirring. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in both sugars. Whisk in eggs, one at a time, then vanilla. Stir in flour and salt. Bake in greased foil-lined pan at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes.
REVIEW
I loved these brownies. Not too rich or chocolatey at all. I did have two differences in mine regarding the chocolate chips. I did not have semi-sweet chocolate chips and I did not have 2 cups. I added 1 cup milk chocolate chips and 4 or 5 chopped squares of semi-sweet baking chocolate. The recipe turned out fine. Next time I will try it with the 2 cups of semi-sweet chips like the recipe said, but tonight I wanted brownies so I improvised. I don't think it will make that big of a difference.
Sorry, no pictures. I didn't have the blog in mind when I was baking this time. It was a spur of the moment ordeal.
Until next time - Best Wishes
